Mr Copplestone's Curiosity Shoppe (Revisit)

Today we are using the magic of Escape Rooms to travel back to Chapel Street, 1873.

This week, we are mixing up the format as we are revisiting a previous escape room! That's right, we loved it so much and had some unfinished business so we simply had to go back!

Who was the Game Master?

We were greeted by our host, Elaine (who ran our last visit too), who led us back into that infamous time machine, and gave us a shortened safety briefing (as we were last there about 3 days before). Elaine then passed us over to Mr Copplestone himself, who told us that even though we had found some of his time echo crystals just days ago, he had managed to lose them again!

What was the story?

As before, we were sent back to 1873 and only had 60 minutes before the time machine zoomed back to present day. Our mission was to collect at least 8 Time Echo Crystals that Mr Copplestone left behind on his last trip to 1873. If we had time, we needed to continue looking for more crystals to ensure that the time machine could continue to work for future time travel missions!

How were clues communicated?

As ever, I.R.I.S was surely there to help us when we needed clues, with the magic words, I.R.I.S came alive with information to assist with our mission.
The time machine displayed a clock that counted down from 60 minutes- this was good as we had sight of the time when we wanted to check on progress, but it wasn't in our faces at all times , which can sometimes be an overwhelming distraction.

What was the room like?

Our host informed us prior to entering the Time Machine that as we had started with the Shoppe on our last visit, we were able to begin our mission this time around in the second room so that we had different puzzles to conquer. We left the Time Machine and started to walk down Chapel Street, as we did last time and completed the first few tasks relatively quickly.
I.R.I.S then notified us of a new key being replicated! We ran to the Time Machine to collect the new key, then went to find the door it opened. We found the door (as it was not the Shoppe from last time) and opened the door and were amazed to see what was inside, another perfectly themed room with plenty of puzzles to work out.
We spent a while working out the puzzles in this room, but as we completed maybe 90% of the puzzles in this room, we were notified that there was another key to be collected.
Katherine ran back to the replicator to collect the key, it was the key to the Curiosity Shoppe! We were back on track to collect all of the crystals.
Once Stuart had finished the final puzzles in the first room, he came through to help with the puzzles in the Curiosity Shoppe. We were getting through the puzzles quickly and could see the Time Echo Crystals racking up on the box, we were doing really well.
We only had a couple left but were struggling where they could be, so we asked I.R.I.S for some help which was very useful to point us in the right direction so we could get those final pesky Crystals.

The whole experience was fantastic and even better than the first time as we managed to experience the whole thing in one go! The design of the puzzles and the theming of the rooms/the whole of Chapel Street, was perfect.
We split up to try and get as many puzzles done as quick as we could, this was definitely the best thing we could have done otherwise it would have felt like we were wasting time with two of us working on the one puzzle.

How did we do?

This time round we did even better, We managed to access every part of Chapel Street that was available in this mission, and completed everything. We found ALL of the Time Echo Crystals that were available to us and made it back to the time machine with 3 minutes and 8 seconds left on the clock.
We gained legendary status!

This is a fantastic room and is definitely one worth having a go at, whether you are newbies or more experienced. It has now changed to the next instalment of the Chapel Street story 'Percy Pendleton's Peculiar Predicament', but will return soon enough!
